Learning related modulation of activity at the Mesoscale and Dendrite level

The ability to learn - to transform sensory information into a particular behavior - is a key function of the brain. Despite the importance of understanding how neural activity contributes to learning, our understanding of these processes is in its nascent stages. In this project, two teams (from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Hebrew University of Jerusalem) will try to explain how activity in the brain reorganizes as mice learn to discriminate between objects and learn to preceive stimuli. They will bore down into specific brain areas and examine how activity in dendrites and axons changes as mice learn.
